Joelle Hancerli Harunzade was born in Istanbul and pursued her passion for design by studying industrial product design at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy. Her graduation thesis, titled “Ottoman Empire: Traditions, Culture & Design…,” garnered significant attention from the Turkish press due to its innovative furniture designs. This project also marked her debut at the prestigious Istanbul Design Week.
With a desire to expand her horizons, Joelle had the opportunity to work alongside renowned designer Karim Rashid at his New York office, where she gained invaluable experience and contributed to various international design exhibitions.
In recognition of her exceptional talent, Joelle was honored with the “Young and Talented Designer of the Year” award at the EDIDA Turkey (Elle Decor International Design Awards) in 2007 for her remarkable “Flip” bench design. Additionally, she was named a finalist in the esteemed International Young Design Entrepreneur (IYDE) competition in 2008.
Joelle’s professional journey led her to NEOTEK, her family’s company in Istanbul, where she successfully distributed office and design furniture. Collaborating closely with interior designers and architects, she provided comprehensive FF&E services for projects on a global scale. To further expand her creative ventures, Joelle established NEOTEK EVENTS, a rental design furniture service catering to both private and corporate events throughout Turkey.
Currently based in Dubai, Joelle continues to fuel her passion for design by specializing in accessories and product design. In addition, she offers her expertise in interior styling services for a diverse range of projects, spanning from residential spaces to corporate offices. With her artistic vision and meticulous attention to detail, Joelle aims to create inspiring and harmonious environments that resonate with her clients’ aspirations.
